||An Ode to The Coffee Shop||

A coffee shop’s love is as sapid as the jet-black espresso which flows through its stainless-steel veins. It nurtures creativity and ingenuity within the warm embrace of its mellow acoustics. Anyone with an idea and a dream can be a hero of philosophy here; a salon of intrepid thought leaders awaits.

Oh coffee shop, oh coffee shop. Why didn’t I stay for just one more latte when I could? ~By: Shayne Jones

There is much goodness within the walls of any library, and for many, they offer an escape from the cold or solace in the chaos.

Everyone has the option to use one, but they can be especially beneficial for those working to make a better life for themselves and their families ~By: Kate Geary

||An Ode to The Movie Theatre||

To me, there is nothing like being immersed in the pitch black darkness of the movie theater. Nothing compares. And nothing ever could ever compare. A place to get lost. Lost in the film that you are seeing, completely immersed in the characters lives, lost in time, lost in space. The movie theater so uniquely creates this feeling of the thrill of adventure mixed with a sense of complete serenity.

As your eyes are engulfed by the gargantuan, larger-than-life screen in front of you, it feels as if there was no past and no future…there is only the present, living moment to moment with the characters in the story, letting their lives take over your own ~By: Coffee.Film.Talk

||An Ode to The Church||

Church isn’t merely steeples and Sunday School classes, pulpits and pews, praise bands and bulletins. The church is a gathering of grace-saved saints who testify together that our sin is nailed to the cross and we bear it no more, that it is gloriously well with our souls, and that one glad morning, when this life is o’er, we’ll fly away.

The carpet may be older than the deacons, the praise band may not make iTunes, and the sermon may not entertain you like last night’s game. But if you listen closely enough, there’s an ancient text with a present voice coming from that pulpit.

If you look closely enough, there are tongues of fire all around. If you taste deeply enough, there’s flesh and blood behind that tabled bread and wine. And if you feel deeply enough, there’s family blood coursing beneath the skin of each hand you shake ~By: David A. Gunderson
